We just got back from a trip to Vegas (planned before we found out the big news). We went with a group of couple's from Phoenix. This is us out for a dinner date. Chase told the waiter to bring enough food for 3 people! He loves to tell people that I need to eat for 2 now. What a crack up.
We signed up for an online update that tracks baby's development by sending weekly updates. This weeks was really exciting, so much so that we have to share:
Hello, Rainy and Chase! This week's major developments: The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean.
This was the best Christmas present ever! Today we went and had the first ultrasound to confirm that the little one is really in there and growing. If you look really closely you can see the little bean (Chase calls the baby LUBS.... little unborn baby simpson) on the right. The baby is between 5-6 weeks along in their development. We will be having our next appointment in 2 weeks for another ultrasound to hopefully, fingers crossed, see the heartbeat. At this point the baby is 5 mm in length. So exciting!
OK so I am totally not showing yet, but its never too early to start, right?!? At this point we were not sure how far along we were, but our guess was 4 weeks.
